The story of coffee is said to begin in 850CE with an Ethiopian goatherd called Kaldi, who discovered the beloved bean. Today, it’s the world’s most popular drink; more than two billion cups of coffee are consumed each day on Earth – and astronauts are even brewing espresso in space.
